Council 10876 hosted its annual local Free Throw Championship on Jan. 13 at the Granville Middle School Gym. A

total of 19 enthusiastic kids ages 10-14 participated, with an additional unofficial 4 kids under age 10! All participants

were awarded participation certificates. Champions were also awarded the Champion Certificate as well as Gold

medals on Red/White/Blue ribbons! Silver and Bronze medals were also appropriately awarded. Eight brother Knights

manned two baskets, a Registration Table, and a Camera to keep the event running smooth.

 

     The Granville area Knights of Columbus (Council 10876) hosted several local sharp-shooters at a Free Throw competition on January 27 at the Granville Middle School Gym. The competition was divided into separate groups for boys and boys, and by ages 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, and under 10. All together, 23 medals were awarded. Gold medalists included Blaze Bingham, Regina Bingham, Ryan Blessard, Allison Holt, Sarah Imhoff, Larson Johnson, Brent Monroe, and Ayrielle Stith. Silver medals winners were Xavier Bingham, Ellie Crawford, Jordan Ann Gummere, Grace Imhoff, Kelsey McMannus, Kelly Overton, Gregory Taylor, Nick Walker. Bronze medalists included Cody Carson, Jessie Becher, Rachael Holt, Isaac Maurer, Jordan Monroe, Sawyer Smith, and Heather Taylor.

     Gold Medalists that were at least 10 years old advanced to the district level competition held February 10, again at the Granville Middle School. Five area councils competed at this competition, including councils from Newark, Buckeye Lake, Dresden, Granville, and Heath. Ryan Blessard, Allison Holt, Sarah Imhoff, and Allison Holt took the Gold at the District Level competition, making them eligible for the Regional competition!

     A total of 13 Districts competed at the Regional competition held March 1 at Bishop Ready High School in Columbus. Allison Holt was first runner-up at the Regional competition after losing in a three round shoot-off.
